With a career in diplomacy spanning two decades and even longer as a Rotarian/Rotaractor in Australia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific, Claire has extensive experience in inter-cultural communication, persuasive writing and editing to offer Rotary Clubs that are looking to find a partner club overseas, develop an international project or apply for a grant. She brings particular expertise in French language and culture, Indonesian language and culture, and Pacific cultures. Claire has been involved with numerous Rotary programs including RYPEN, RYLA, Youth Exchange, NYSF, MUNA and Peace Scholars, and was the founding Chair of a satellite club that now thrives as the Rotary Club of Canberra Sundowners.

My professional experience lecturing at Swinburne University and private practice in grief, trauma and loss counselling plus my vast volunteer work with people of all backgrounds and diversity has provided me with the ability to talk and work with anyone in a non-judgemental way, with empathy and practicality. The experience I have gained working with people from our CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) communities provides me with enormous respect and need to assist our new Australians to understand and be part of the prevention of family abuse. I have 25 years experience in change management of individuals and teams in large corporations. Successfully guiding them through the transition process from where they are now, and into the new era. My skills are: 1. Extensive experience in leadership, management, coaching and change management of individuals and teams. 2. Training and mentoring plans for succession planning in workplaces, this could be applied to clubs for succession planning of future leaders. 3. Workplace Trainer and Assessor experience. 4. Expertise in investment proposals, financial strategy, analysis, forecasting and control, together with risk analysis, identification and mitigation skills. 5. DEI assessments and action plans to provide improved club functioning. 6. Use of social media to connect with club members and the community. 7. Encouragement of youth participation in RYLA programs through community engagement.

With a decade-long tenure in public education, primarily as a secondary English teacher, I've honed various skills crucial for community engagement. Holding roles like Year Advisor, Aboriginal Education officer, and senior curriculum co-ordinator, I've developed expertise in designing youth programs and promoting youth well-being. Transitioning into Rotary Club involvement, I've spearheaded recruitment strategies, resulting in a notable 5-member growth for our small club within a year. As a young female Anglican priest, I leverage my abilities to challenge stereotypes surrounding both the church and Rotary, effectively contributing to my current club's dynamics. Leading Dungog Anglican Church as its rector demands adeptness in enhancing its public image, emphasizing graphic design, website development, and marketing proficiency. This expertise extends to supporting the Rotary Zone 8 project, where I offer insights into leveraging social media for community groups' positive portrayal.

My diverse background and experiences bring a unique perspective that I share with Rotary and Rotaract. Comprehensive experience across multiple people disciplines and strong project management capability. Specialties include change management, corporate governance, workplace health and safety, mergers and acquisition, employee engagement and workplace relations (including conflict and resolution), diversity and people development. With a robust background in strategy development, policy advising, and organizational governance, I bring significant expertise in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. As the National Manager at the Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network (MYAN) Australia, I have led national initiatives that promote youth migrants and refugees' rights. I serve as the President of the Equal Employment Opportunity Network (EEON) and an Advisory Board member for Welcoming Cities, focusing on inclusive policies and environments. My work at the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission and various international NGOs, including the United Nations, has honed my skills in building respectful and safe environments for diverse communities. I have developed and presented training, created strategies and frameworks, and implemented guidelines for meaningful participation and collaboration.
