Assisting with clubs' affiliated groups, as well as joint events with other professional non-for-profit groups/clubs such as Lions and Zonta and other local men's and women's groups. Assisting local clubs with general day-to-day items, how to run meetings. How to access information on District Website as well as via My Rotary, RI site - Branding, Learning and Development modules, Information and Assistance, Public Liability & Insurance queries etc..

I am an experienced HR professional with a multinational IT organisation with experience working across teams and geographic boundaries. I have held District and club roles in public image and youth programs, as well as serving as a club secretary and club president. I feel I am well qualified to assist Rotary members in our zone in the areas of public image and youth programs. I have built websites at both a club and District level (using WordPress and ClubRunner), as well as being a strong advocate for our brand and improving the resources available to clubs. I have a passion for Youth programs and have provided advocacy at a club level as well as successfully leading a District RYLA style program, improving processes, data management and financial and participant outcomes. More recently, I was appointed as the District Youth Programs Chair leading a team supporting programs including RYLA and YEP.

Jeff has been a Rotarian since 1988, served twice as President of RC Cairns Mulgrave and is a Past D9550 Governor (2002-03) when he introduced Rotary to Timor-Leste. He has served in many Rotary District and National roles. District roles have included Youth Exchange Chair, Rotary Foundation Chair, District Trainer, Public Image Chair, Club Vision Facilitation Chair, Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Chair and, more recently, District Governance Chair for both Districts 9550 & 9560. National roles include Secretary of Rotary Youth Exchange Australia (RYEA) 1999-2002, Director and Chair of Australian Rotarians Corporate Alliance Program (ARCAP) 2002 -07, and Director and Chair of Australian Rotary Health (ARH) 2012-17. He has extensive experience in governance within Rotary; and is an experienced Club Vision Facilitator and Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Facilitator. Jeff is also President of Sailability Cairns and a Committee Member of Sailability Queensland, involved in enabling people with disability to sail.

Drafted and assisted Rotary Districts/Clubs in both NZ and Australia to complete 40 Global Grants, over a 20 year period, covering several areas of focus. Have successfully applied for 6 Disaster Grants. Have served as a Rotary Foundation Cadre for a 3-year period. Have excellent Knowledge of the Grant process and requirements of TRF. Have given several District Presentations at Training events and Conferences.

My diverse background and experiences bring a unique perspective that I share with Rotary and Rotaract. Comprehensive experience across multiple people disciplines and strong project management capability. Specialties include change management, corporate governance, workplace health and safety, mergers and acquisition, employee engagement and workplace relations (including conflict and resolution), diversity and people development. Though my lived experiences, contribute to dismantling biases and stereotypes, championing DEI and building safe environments - physically and psychosocially.

My experiences as a Rotaractor (including District Rotaract Representative), and my roles in 26+ years as a Rotarian, including District Governor 2020-21, Newsletter Editor for a number of District Governors, two separate two-year terms as District Public Image Chair and administrator of a number of social media sites, have helped frame my beliefs about the role of Public Image in growing Rotary. I believe that, not only do we need to “do good” in our communities; we need to make sure we tell everyone about it! But we need to do it well, using consistent branding. It is not just about saying how good we are, to get a pat on the back, it helps people to know who we are, it helps us get more members; it helps us gain more community partners – it opens opportunities to do even more ‘good’ in the world.” To enhance Rotary’s public image, I have experience in, and can offer support for: • Using current Rotary branding, based on knowledge and experience using Rotary’s Brand Center. • Managing and using social media, in particular Facebook pages and groups. • Producing effective newsletters that enhance communication for and among members of Rotary Clubs/Districts, and their communities.

I particularly seek to be a part of the solution to reversing declining membership numbers across Zone 8 through the creation of highly visible community projects which attract community appreciation, and hence enhance the desire for people to become Rotarians. I feel I bring to the table both business leadership skills, and a reasonable understanding of how the District structure model has both been successful and unsuccessful. Raising the profile of Rotary is a huge part of future success. We have a lot of great stories to tell/sell.

Housing Solutions From a background of technical construction expertise, we have a very high degree of understanding of the existing housing marketplace. This work has delivered a number of housing projects of national significance. I have been an educator both professionally and in Rotary learning and development for many years at club, district, and zone level. I enjoy working with people to develop their skills and experiences. I have a high degree of IT knowledge especially with packages that boost the Rotary experience, personally and at club level.

My expertise lies in strategic internal and external communications and marketing (including digital and social media), and events management. I bring 15+ years of experience, with a diverse skill-set forged through roles in the public, private, and tertiary education sectors. Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of teams (digital/website, social, communications and marketing, and events) and so have a broad depth of experience across the diverse marketing and communications field. I enjoy working closely with others to ensure information is being communicated in the most suitable and effective way, and to guide and empower them to achieve successful outcomes. I have particular interest in: - communications and marketing planning - impactful storytelling - writing for online audiences (including websites, emails and newsletters) - communication channel management (the mediums through which we communicate). I am excited to work with clubs to empower them to meet their communications goals.
