G’day Bente. I’m the president elect (and current treasurer) of the Rotary Club of Oberon (NSW – District 9705). We are a very small club, only 7 members, but we’ve decided to take on an ambitious project. The town’s name is taken from the character in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Oberon, king of the fairies). So, we’ve decided that Oberon deserves a Shakespeare festival. We’ve formed a small subcommittee to organise the event; three members (including me). None of us have any specific expertise in event management, but we have some knowledge in some related areas. The local council is very supportive as is anyone we mention the project to. We hope that it will develop and grow into a much loved annual event. The initial event programme, however, is quite small. We have already gone some way down the organisational road for the festival, but, at a RCG meeting recently, it was revealed to me that some expertise might be available. And this is why I’m contacting you. We actually think we have it pretty much under control, but I thought an opportunity to run through the plan with an expert might reveal something we’ve missed (or, even better, confirm that we haven’t missed anything). Is there a way that we could meet to talk over the project with you? Online is, obviously, the most practical way of doing that. You can email me at: sunjar@mavisboot.com.au or contact me by phone on 0416011590. Please let me know. neville ross cheers (and all)
