Will,
I have garnered your attention from the Specialist hub of Rotary Pacific
I have been heading up a program to resurrect a school in Lese Oalai in the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea, where the literacy level is only 4%, so the need is very high and the support levels from educational institutions is very low.
So far, after four years we are getting somewhere. A Global Grant from The Rotary Foundation (and 5 Rotary Districts, 10 Rotary Clubs and a sprinkling of private donors) of USD $85,000 has allowed us to build 22 composting toilets to replace 6 “Pit Toilets” for the near 1,000 students at the school. This facility will be opened up at Lese Oalai by the Bishop of Kerema (capital of Gulf Province) on the 2nd of November, along with a library created from a container funded by the Australian High Commission.
I would like to advertise this success in our local regional newspaper as a publicity event for Rotary (and for the project, which has other multiple subprojects such as building 14 classrooms), and to act as an invitation to the local community to visit our Rotary Club.
Would you be interested in developing a half page advertisement (which will cost about $600 at Surf Coast Times) to promote this success? We will have plenty of photos to choose from, and I can provide you with any other details.
I have a couple of documents that I could forward if you wanted more into.
