Hey Amanda, I’ve got people interested to become members and I cant find the process of how to progress them to a member. My president says there is some paper form to fill out and then we propose it to the board then, it goes to members, then we induct in a meeting. It would be nice if there was an online form, not paper. I want to make sure it done to the highest standard. Would appreciate the latest news on this process. Thank you. Brooke

  1. Hi Brooke

    Thank you for your patience.

Are you asking about officially recording a new member once they have joined?

Generally when someone wants to join a club, the club has a membership application form – this enables the club to collect all the details you will need to formally register this new member. The paper form is a process of your club, and you can update this from within the club. Our club has an online form for this.

Check your club’s constitution and bylaws will outline the process for your club.
The usual process is for the proposed members application form to go to the board for decision, then membership is presented to the club and without an objection the offer of membership can be made.

Once this process has been completed (the process in your clubs governnace documents) then you need to register the person with your district and Rotary International.

Do you know if your district uses clubrunner?
If so, this is where you will need to enter the new member’s details.
When you register them you will need their details as well as which publication they would like to subscribe to – either the zone publication Rotary Down Under or the international magazine – The Rotary Magazine.
Once you have completed this process the system will update the Rotary International system and your district’s system so that when the next round of dues are issued from both RI and your district the new member will be included.

If your district doesn’t have clubrunner you will need to find out which system they use and enter the person’s details there. Most districts in our zone use clubrunner.

    I hope this helps.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you need help with any of these steps.

    Your in Rotary
    Amanda
