Good afternoon Peter Im the President of Lake Taupo Rotary Club and have been advisedby our District Govenor Nick Dangerfield to contact you. I am currently experiencing issues with the Charitable Trust and the Immediate Past President that are putting the club at risk. In summary they are: 1. Trust are insisting on taking over the control of major club events which is outside their remit as per the Trust Deed 2. Continual undermining and bullying by certain trustees towards me. I would like the opportunity to discuss this further with you and also engage my President Elect Noel Rodgers as well. I look forward to hearing from you. Your in Rotary President Bronwyn

  1. I am puzzled. This was originally raised on 22 August. I visited Taupo twice during week 26-31 August. The initial visit to meet with key club members and the second one to meet with the Rotary Club Board members and the Club Charitable Trustees, accompanied by D9930 DG Nick Dangerfield. My recall is that I wrote a series of notes in the portal at the time, though did not close the ticket then as was waiting for feedback on any changes made as a result of the meetings. Regrettably I am unable to locate any of those noted in this portal.

Subsequently, while some positive changes were made, it was disappointing to see the personalities involved continue to clash and cause issues. A number of follow up phone calls and counselling by both myself and DG Nick helped to keep the club alive and completing projects. Not an entirely satisfactory resolution from my perspective, but the best which could be achieved. Hopefully the change of President and Directors for 2025-26 will see things settle down in the club once again.
